I found an interesting article, on lack of education for elderly people despite a recorded demand. Particularly surrounding technology skills and awareness.
In particular, given that elderly in our society are more prone to social isolation, I think it really an area where evolving IT trends and social networking forums (in particular) could play a part in reducing this and in increasing quality of life for older people. Also to increase awareness of the networks that exist for their interests.
